Pictures of the final model
Mrs and Mr Lenain, wanted to build a house on their own. This project has been designed with a big implication from their side. It was also, the first time I was in the situation of a real project.

For the first step, we worked with models. Five different spaces were shown to them. They included, what they were showing, what they were saying, and what I was thinking to understand what they wanted.
That helped a lot in the discussion, about what was finally the space they loved the most. But also what they could actually build or not. The house had to be inspired by Japanese architecture, as easy as possible to build and sustain. It should be a contemplation space, a transition between quotidian and life in the forest.

Collage, living as a transition, contemplation
The house has been designed with particular attention in the interior space and the transition with the exterior.

Built in wood, a brick load-bearing wall is in the middle, with the function to capt solar energy during winter to provide heat to the house.
